Midfielder Dejan Stanković is expected to miss FC Internazionale Milano's UEFA Champions League Matchday 4 game at Tottenham Hotspur FC after sustaining a calf injury during the 4-3 victory over the London side at San Siro.

The Serbian international, 32, was taken off after 50 minutes on Wednesday, with scans showing he has strained his right calf. He is likely to be sidelined for the Tottenham return match at White Hart Lane on 2 November.

Stanković scored the third of Inter's four first-half goals against Spurs before the Nerazzurri were almost upstaged by Gareth Bale's hat-trick for the visitors. The European champions top Group A with seven points from three outings, three more than second-ranked Tottenham.
