Arsenal face Fàbregas and Eboué absence

The injuries Cesc Fàbregas and Emmanuel Eboué suffered at SC Braga on Tuesday are expected to keep them out of Arsenal FC's crucial final Group H game against FK Partizan.

Arsenal FC are likely to be without Cesc Fàbregas and Emmanuel Eboué for their final UEFA Champions League Group H match after both picked up injuries in Tuesday's 2-0 defeat at SC Braga.

Eboué suffered a knee ligament problem during the game in Portugal while Fàbregas was forced off with a hamstring complaint with 21 minutes to play. Arsenal expect their captain to be missing for a fortnight while Eboué will be out of action for at least a month.

"Eboué has a medial knee ligament strain," manager Arsène Wenger said. "It can be four weeks, can be six weeks or can be eight weeks. But I think it will be four weeks minimum. Fabregas will be assessed today with a scan. After that we can tell you how long he will be out, but I count two weeks."

Injuries have restricted Fàbregas to just ten Premier League and three UEFA Champions League appearances this season. Arsenal need to beat FK Partizan in their concluding group fixture in London on 8 December to be sure of their place in the Round of 16.
