Swiss titleholders FC Basel 1893 have continued building for the coming season after signing Pak Kwang Ryong and Korea Republic defender Park Joo-Ho.

Park, 24, has joined from Júbilo Iwata on a four-year deal and is expected to challenge Kay Voser, newly signed from Grasshopper-Club, for the left-back berth at the UEFA Champions League group stage hopefuls. He won the J-League with Kashima Antlers in 2009.

Czech international Radoslav Kováč also arrived at Basel over the weekend to bolster the back line, though the capture of Pak has more attacking designs. The 18-year-old, a senior international with DPR Korea, has been drafted in until summer 2016 and needs no introduction to life in Switzerland: the former Kigwancha Club forward has spent the last six months with FC Wil though he was ineligible to play.
