Second leg takes place at Camp Nou next Tuesday

Luis Enrique, Barcelona coach
There are lots of ways you can describe our play. We were focused, had possession and were good in defence. We made a lot of chances and were solid. We need to look to win the return match and avoid any surprises.

We have been consistent in every department. We enjoyed most of the possession, like we wanted to, and we managed to vary our attacks. Luis Suárez was both physically strong and technically agile, but I want to stress that all my players were very good today. When we play like that, we're very difficult to beat.

It's true that Paris will have several key players back for the second leg who were absent today. It will be a tough match, for sure. We have seen all sorts of scenarios in football, so we will not make the mistake of thinking it's over and qualification is a given. We'll have the same goal as we do in every match: to win.

I have to congratulate the players. It's a big win for us and I think it was deserved. They tried to cause us problems and their goal came through a bit of luck, but these things happen in football.

Laurent Blanc, Paris coach
It was certainly hard for us tonight. When your style is to have the ball and then you don't have it, you suffer. We're not used to running for the ball. Moreover, physically, we were not at our best and we lost players to injury [including captain Thiago Silva]. There was a lot for us to overcome if we were to get a result, but I don't want to speak about the absent players.

However, the players gave their best – we didn't perform that badly – it just wasn't enough to get a result. Above all, Barcelona were dominant everywhere on the pitch, both technically and physically. They were better than us, they had the ball, and it was reflected in the scoreline.

Tonight Barcelona showed the style I love and appreciate a lot ... it's been the same for 100 years now: have the ball at your feet and make the opposition run. They made us drop deeper, especially their front three, and we were very average. That's why the players were so disappointed, because they felt they couldn't have done more or better.

In the return leg, Paris will be a different team. We'll have suspended players back [Zlatan Ibrahimović and Marco Verratti] and though I'm not sure about our injured players yet, the main thing is that we'll have to show we're better than we were tonight. Tonight I was just very disappointed.
