Dynamo dealt Fedorov blow

FC Dynamo Kyiv will be without their Ukrainian international defender, Serhiy Fedorov, for three months.

'A major blow'
The 30-year-old suffered the injury during Dynamo's Ukrainian Super Cup defeat by FC Shakhtar Donetsk on Saturday, following a collision with opposition striker Ciprian Marica. Dynamo coach Leonid Buriak said: "I spoke to our physios about the injury and they think surgery is needed. Serhiy could be out for three months, which is a major blow for us at the start of the season."

Champions League setback
Fedorov will miss the start of the Ukrainian Premier League this week as well as Dynamo's UEFA Champions League second qualifying round tie later this month against Swiss side FC Thun. He is also likely to miss the conclusion to Ukraine's FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign, with his country currently leading Group 2.
