AEK Athens FC goalkeeper Stefano Sorrentino is out of the second leg of their tie against Heart of Midlothian FC after being involved in a car accident.

AEK Athens FC goalkeeper Stefano Sorrentino is out of the second leg of their UEFA Champions League third qualifying round tie against Heart of Midlothian FC after being involved in a car accident on Sunday morning.

Hospital stay
The Italian player hit barriers at the side of the road after swerving to avoid a collision. He suffered bruises and cuts on his left arm and his chest, and after receiving stitches in hospital will remain there for two to three days as a precaution. A doctors' statement revealed that Sorrentino will be out for up to four weeks, potentially meaning he will miss group stage Matchday 1 on 12-13 September should AEK make the most of their 2-1 lead when Hearts visit on Wednesday.
