Dinamo praise for PSG destroyer Ibrahimović

Zlatan Ibrahimović drew praise from both sides after setting up all four of Paris Saint-Germain FC's goals against GNK Dinamo Zagreb – "he destroyed us," said the visitors' Josip Pivarić.

The Paris Saint-Germain FC and GNK Dinamo Zagreb players were united in their praise of Zlatan Ibrahimović after the Sweden international set up all four goals to help take the French club to the verge of the last 16. Blaise Matuidi, who, like Guillaume Hoarau, registered his first UEFA Champions League strike, described the 31-year-old as "immense", while Croatian defender Josip Šimunić called him "really top class", adding: "We did everything we could but it wasn’t enough."

Zlatan Ibrahimović, PSG forward
It was very important to come back strongly after losing our last game. It was good to show we have the confidence. If I cannot score I try to help my team-mates score. Luckily, today my team-mates scored. As long as you create chances the goals will come. We'll take it one game at a time. We're in a good position now, so let's hope we can keep going in the Champions League, and with luck we will go through. The most important thing is to qualify, whether we finish first or second.

Guillaume Hoarau, PSG forward
Our objective was to bounce back after suffering our first league defeat of the season. It was important to win because we have a tough game against FC Porto to come. Nothing has been settled yet. The Porto game will be a bit like a final. We'll believe in our chances. We're playing at home and we know what Porto are capable of. They're a great team and we have been warned. We'll need to work very hard to finish top of the group.

Blaise Matuidi, PSG midfielder
It feels great to have scored my first UEFA Champions League goal. I hope there will be more to follow. The main thing is we achieved our objective. We knew we needed to turn up today after the disappointing result against AS Saint-Étienne.

Zlatan is exceptional. He makes everyone else want to raise their games. He's an immense footballer and he shows that match after match. Our next game at FC Dynamo Kyiv is going to be difficult and we'll play in testing weather conditions. But we beat them 4-1 in the home match so hopefully we can get a positive result out there.

Josip Šimunić, Dinamo defender
It is a harsh scoreline because we resisted well in the first half and indeed the first hour, but PSG's extra class showed. We did everything we could but it wasn't enough. In my opinion, players like Ezequiel Lavezzi and Zlatan Ibrahimović are among the very best in the world. They really are top class. That's the way it is in football. Now we have to give 120% in our last two games.

Domagoj Vida, Dinamo defender
At least we put up a fight. Of course we are disappointed and sad but we need to keep going forward. PSG showed that they are top class.

Arijan Ademi, Dinamo midfielder
In the first 60 minutes we played well against the mighty PSG. I am really sorry that all ended like this. A 4-0 loss is not fair. They took all of their chances and punished all of our mistakes. We had two good opportunities and couldn't score.  The scoreboard looks really ugly.

Josip Pivarić, defender
There's nothing much to say about Ibrahimović, he destroyed us with his assists. Do you remember the first half? If we were not better, we were as good as PSG. That was my impression on the pitch. I was in for one good chance and if we scored then everything could have been different. Then they scored with their first meaningful chance. They punished our mistakes and that's the reason they are so good.
