Porto look to Brazil once more

FC Porto are close to signing another Brazilian in the Grémio de Porto Alegre forward Cláudio Mejolaro.

FC Porto are expected to unveil their second Brazilian signing in the space of a week either today or tomorrow after agreeing terms with Grêmio Football Porto Alegrense forward Cláudio Mejolaro.

Undisclosed fee
Nicknamed 'Pitbull', the 23-year-old is training with the European champions this morning and will join on a four-and-a-half year contract for an undisclosed fee. Mejolaro, who hopes to make his debut for Víctor Fernández's side against UD Leiria next Sunday, scored 19 goals last season for Grémio despite their relegation from the Brazilian top flight.

Derlei departure
He has been signed to fill the void left by Derlei's departure for FC Dinamo Moskva and joins fellow new recruit and countryman Léo Lima at the Estádio do Dragão. "I'm a very combative player and I'm here to help Porto win more and more titles," said Mejolaro. "Porto are an important club where any player would like to play."

Inter next
The UEFA Champions League holders will play FC Internazionale Milano in the first knockout round next month.
