Czech midfielder David Jarolím will miss Hamburger SV's UEFA Champions League games against FC Porto after tearing a ligament in his shoulder.

'Two-week rest'
The 27-year-old is expected to be out of action for four weeks after sustaining the injury to his left shoulder during Saturday's 2-1 home defeat against FC Schalke 04, a match in which he was sent off shortly before half-time. "David needs a two-week rest now, then he can slowly return to team training," said Hamburg coach Thomas Doll.

Kompany doubts
Jarolím will thus miss this week's Group G game against Porto in Portugal and probably the return fixture on 1 November. To make matters worse for the German club, 20-year-old Belgian defender Vincent Kompany is also unavailable for the Porto game having withdrawn from the squad for Saturday's match with a groin problem.
