Sagnol celebrates new Bayern deal

FC Bayern München right-back Willy Sagnol confirmed on French television that he has extended his contract with the German giants until 2010.

'Four beautiful years'
"I have extended my contract for four more beautiful years," he told French television. "The club knew I wanted to think about my decision carefully. They allowed me to take my time."

'I needed some time'
"I feel like I am at home in Munich," said the French international, who sparked speculation over his future by refusing a contract offer last year. "I said no because Bayern wanted me to make a decision immediately. I needed some time to think about it, and the club's directors were very understanding. This will make it ten years in Munich for me, it's something huge."

Trophy haul
Sagnol joined the club in 2000 and has enjoyed a trophy-laden career during his time in Bavaria, winning three German Bundesliga titles, two German Cups and the 2000/01 UEFA Champions League.
