The state of play

Seven UEFA Champions League second group stage berths remain up for grabs and uefa.com looks at the permutations.

With just one Matchday remaining in the first group stage of the 2002/03 UEFA Champions League, nine of the 16 second group stage berths are already filled.

Seven places left
Seven places are still up for grabs and there is also the issue of UEFA Cup qualification. uefa.com guides you through the permutations that could arise when the final games are played on 12 and 13 November.

Group A
Arsenal FC and BV Borussia Dortmund are already through to the second group stage, so the only issues left to resolve are who qualifies for the UEFA Cup and who tops the group. PSV Eindhoven will finish third if they win at Arsenal, or if AJ Auxerre fail to beat Dortmund. Auxerre will qualify for the UEFA Cup if they beat Dortmund and PSV fail to beat Arsenal. Dortmund will win the group if they win their final game. If they draw Arsenal must win to overhaul them. If Dortmund lose and Arsenal draw the English side will top the group.
