Matchday five: what was your highlight?

Matchday five produced an abundance of great goals – Philippe Mexès take a bow – interesting results and superb individual performances, but what stood out for you?

Five matchdays down, one to go. The penultimate round of UEFA Champions League group stage games took place this week and, once again, there was plenty to sink your teeth into. But what was your highlight?

Where else to start than with Philippe Mexès? The centre-back ended a goal drought at club level dating back to February 2011 with that jaw-dropping overhead kick in AC Milan's 3-1 Group C defeat of RSC Anderlecht. Anything former Rossoneri striker Zlatan Ibrahimović can do, Mexès can seemingly replicate.

Lukas Podolski rifles in Arsenal's second goal versus Montpellier

Maybe you were captivated by Rui Pedro's hat-trick for CFR 1907 Cluj, Lukas Podolski's stunning volley or Burak Yılmaz's match-winning header against Manchester United FC. The Turkish international is certainly Galatasaray AŞ's go-to man in Europe: he has scored all five of Cimbom's Group H goals.

Or perhaps it was a team effort that caught your eye, with Juventus's 3-0 Group E victory over holders Chelsea FC one of the standout results of the week. What do you think? What have we missed? Have your say below.
