Valencia CF defender Adil Rami has been ruled out of the UEFA Champions League round of 16 second leg at Paris Saint-Germain FC after suffering a thigh tear.
The 27-year-old struck a last-minute goal in the first instalment last week to make it 2-1 and raise hopes that the Spanish side can yet reach the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals. They will have to do without the French international, however, after he hobbled off just before half-time during Valencia's 2-0 Liga home victory against RCD Mallorca on Sunday.
Examinations revealed a tear to his left thigh, an injury that will keep the centre-back sidelined for three weeks. Rami, who has missed just one game in the competition this season, therefore sits out the trip to Paris on 6 March.
