Due recognition
The Greek side have agreed a four-year deal with the player, whose original contract was due to expire in December. The 29-year-old, who will also receive a pay rise, said: "This is recognition of my efforts. I am honoured to be able to continue my career with AEK."
Injury blow
However, there was bad news too for Kapsis with the diagnosis of a leg injury which makes him a doubt for AEK's Champions League match at AS Monaco FC on 30 September. The defender sustained the injury in the Group C draw with RC Deportivo La Coruña on Wednesday and faces at least ten days of inactivity - starting with this weekend's league derby against Panathinaikos FC.
