The 19-year-old defender is considered a major talent for the future by Bayern's coaching staff. However, he presently faces stiff competition for a place in the starting lineup, with Willy Sagnol, Hasan Salihamidzic and Owen Hargreaves all able to play in his preferred position of right-back.
Loan clause
Lell, who has made just one first-team appearance for Bayern this season, normally plays for the club's reserve side in the third division. He has a clause inserted in his contract stipulating he can leave the Olympiastadion on loan next season to gain first-team experience.
