FC Porto winger César Peixoto will be out of action for the next three months with a knee injury.
César Peixoto will undergo surgery during the next ten days after tests confirmed the 23-year-old had damaged ligaments in his left knee during the 3-2 win at Olympique de Marseille in the UEFA Champions League match last Wednesday.
César Peixoto must wait for the swelling to subside before his operation, after which he faces a lengthy period of recuperation. The left-sided player had finally established himself in Porto's side this season and coach José Mourinho said: "After a difficult period settling in, this injury has come at the worst moment [for him]."
