Georgatos quits AEK

Grigorios Georgatos left AEK Athens FC last night after the Greek club agreed to terminate the midfield player's contract.

Deteriorating relationship
Georgatos joined AEK in summer 2002 and enjoyed a fine first season, playing 23 games in the Alpha Ethniki and four times in the UEFA Champions League. However, the 31-year old's relationship with coach Dusan Bajevic has reportedly deteriorated and he had been seeking his release for the past two weeks.

Olympiacos return
A former Greek international who was signed by Internazionale FC to replace Roberto Carlos in 1999, Georgatos has been tipped to return for a third spell with Olympiacos CFP, the Greek champions.
