Miller, who scored twice in six UEFA Champions League group stage fixtures this season, will move to Old Trafford on 1 July. The Irish Under-21 international joined Celtic in June 1998 as a 16-year-old.

Excited by challenge
"I am honoured to have played for Celtic for six years and now I'm looking forward to joining Manchester United," the 22-year-old Miller told United's official website. "It's very exciting and is going to be a challenge to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world."

Potential recognised
United manager Sir Alex Ferguson was also pleased. "We recognised the potential of Liam, he has had a great season at Celtic. He is very much part of our progressive thinking of developing a young team over the next few years."
