Ljungberg recovering from rib blow

Midfielder Fredrik Ljungberg is a doubt for Arsenal FC's UEFA Champions League tie against RC Celta de Vigo.

Midfield player Fredrik Ljungberg will hope to return in time for Arsenal FC's UEFA Champions League tie against RC Celta de Vigo after being ruled out for three weeks with a rib injury.

Painful blow
The effervescent Swedish international suffered the injury in Sunday's 2-1 defeat of Manchester City FC at Highbury, a victory which saw the Londoners return to the top of the Premiership. "I got hit by a City player and it hurt like hell," said Ljungberg. "The pain was so bad on Sunday night that I needed to take painkillers to help me sleep."

Sweden friendly
The 26-year-old will miss Sweden's UEFA EURO 2004™ friendly against Albania in Tirana on 18 February and the FA Cup fifth-round match with Chelsea FC three days earlier. The first leg of Arsenal's knockout tie against Celta takes place in Spain on Tuesday 24 February.
