Real Madrid CF will be without Royston Drenthe for their UEFA Champions League first knockout round decider against Olympique Lyonnais after the 22-year-old suffered a left thigh tear in training.
Drenthe is expected to be sidelined for three weeks and the news will come as a blow to Madrid coach Manuel Pellegrini who could have used the versatile Dutchman in place of suspended Brazilian full-back Marcelo against the Ligue 1 side. Los Merengues will be hoping to overturn a 1-0 deficit against Lyon at Santiago Bernabéu on 10 March and avoid elimination from the competition in the last 16 for the sixth successive season.
