Chelsea confirm Čech absence

Chelsea FC keeper Petr Čech could be sidelined for three to four weeks, potentially ruling him out of the second leg of the tie against FC Internazionale Milano, after he tore a calf muscle in Italy.

Chelsea FC goalkeeper Petr Čech could miss the second leg of his team's UEFA Champions League first knockout round tie against FC Internazionale Milano after tearing a calf muscle during Wednesday's 2-1 defeat in Italy.

The 27-year-old went off on 61 minutes in Milan after pulling up while collecting a cross and "is expected to be out for three to four weeks", according to the London club. Chelsea host the return leg on Tuesday 16 March, needing a victory to stand a chance of featuring in the draw for the quarter-finals that Friday.
