FC Bayern München will be deprived the services of injured youngster Diego Contento in their UEFA Champions League first knockout round decider with ACF Fiorentina on Tuesday.
The 19-year-old left-back suffered a cut to his right knee that required two stitches during Saturday's 1-1 Bundesliga draw at 1. FC Köln and will now miss the trip to Italy, having contested the second half of Bayern's 2-1 home-leg success. With Argentinian defender Martín Demichelis also unavailable through injury, coach Louis Van Gaal will either call upon 17-year-old Austrian international David Alaba, who replaced Contento after 73 minutes in Cologne, or Croatian international Danijel Pranjić. Meanwhile, Dutch winger Arjen Robben is ready to feature again after missing the Köln match with a cold.
