Bastos to miss Madrid meeting

Olympique Lyonnais must cope without Michel Bastos in Wednesday's UEFA Champions League first knockout round decider at Real Madrid CF after the winger picked up an unspecified muscle injury.

Olympique Lyonnais winger Michel Bastos has picked up an unspecified muscle injury and will be absent for the French side's UEFA Champions League first knockout round decider at Real Madrid CF on Wednesday.

Bastos contested the opening 82 minutes of Lyon's goalless draw at US Boulogne on Saturday, before being replaced by Miralem Pjanić. "It is bad news for Olympique Lyonnais," read a statement on the Ligue 1 club's website, which reported that the 26-year-old Brazilian international had been ruled out of the midweek game with "a muscle problem". Lyon, who are also missing injured duo François Clerc and Anderson, won the first leg againt Madrid 1-0 at the Stade de Gerland.
