Midfielder Jean II Makoun has emerged as an early injury doubt for Olympique Lyonnais' UEFA Champions League quarter-final second leg against FC Girondins de Bordeaux on Wednesday.

Although Makoun played the full 90 minutes of Lyon's 3-1 home victory against Bordeaux on Tuesday, he is struggling with the recurrence of a groin injury which he had picked up in the previous round against Real Madrid CF. Lyon have already ruled him out of Saturday's Ligue 1 trip to Stade Rennais FC.

The question for coach Claude Puel is whether the 26-year-old Cameroon international will recover in time for the Bordeaux return match. The injury originally kept him sidelined for two and a half weeks, until Makoun's reappearance against Grenoble Foot 38 last Saturday.

Left-back Aly Cissokho is also being monitored after sustaining an ankle knock in midweek, while forward Sidney Govou could be omitted from the squad to face Rennes as he has a stomach bug.
