Rubin reach out for Antoniuc

Moldova Under-21 striker Alexandru Antoniuc has joined Russian titleholders FC Rubin Kazan from FC Zimbru Chişinău as they prepare for the UEFA Champions League group stage.

Russian champions FC Rubin Kazan have strengthened their squad with the signing of Moldova Under-21 striker Alexandru Antoniuc from FC Zimbru Chişinău.

Antoniuc, 21, has signed a four-year deal at Rubin, having made 51 appearances and scored nine goals for Zimbru in the Moldovan First Division since making his debut in July 2007, and also took part in their UEFA Europa League qualifying campaign last season. Third in the Russian Premier League, four points behind leaders FC Zenit St. Petersburg, Rubin resume their bid for a hat-trick of titles on 9 July at home to PFC Krylya Sovetov Samara. They will contest the UEFA Champions League group stage this autumn.
