Twente bring in Bengtsson

Swedish international defender Rasmus Bengtsson has joined Dutch titleholders FC Twente, having left Hertha BSC Berlin following their relegation from the Bundesliga.

Once-capped Sweden central defender Rasmus Bengtsson has joined Dutch champions FC Twente as a free agent, having left Hertha BSC Berlin following their relegation from the Bundesliga.

The 24-year-old has signed a three-season contract at Twente, with the option of a further 12 months. A regular for Sweden at the 2009 UEFA European Under-21 Championship finals, the one-time Malmö FF trainee joined Hertha in 2009 after a spell with Trelleborgs FF. His new side start their UEFA Champions League tilt in the group stage.
