
Olympique Lyonnais captain Cris has signed a new contract, extending his stay with the UEFA Champions League group stage entrants until 2013.
The 33-year-old's fresh terms represent a two-season extension to his existing deal, which was due to expire next summer. The defender said: "We agreed it on Wednesday night. Talks went smoothly and finally we came to an arrangement. I feel happy at Lyon and so do my family, as I start my seventh campaign with the club." Former Cruzeiro EC and Brazil centre-back Cris has scored 17 goals in 182 league games for Lyon, winning four French titles. In 2010/11, Lyon will compete in the UEFA Champions League group stage for the 11th successive season.
