FC Spartak Moskva have recruited RCD Espanyol central defender Nicolás Pareja to the cause as the Russian side prepare for their campaign in the UEFA Champions League group stage.

FC Spartak Moskva have begun building for the UEFA Champions League group stage by signing RCD Espanyol defender Nicolás Pareja.
The 26-year-old Argentinian arrives on undisclosed terms after making 30 Spanish Liga appearances in each of the last two seasons for Espanyol. Pareja previously played for RSC Anderlecht – where he won a Belgian First League title in 2007 – and AA Argentinos Juniors.
Spartak will enter the UEFA Champions League in the group stage after finishing second in Russia in 2009. The Muscovites are sixth in the Premier-Liga after 14 matches of the current campaign, 16 points behind leaders FC Zenit St. Petersburg.
