• Alan Kardec scored his first ever Portuguese Liga goal as Benfica, without the rested Carlos Martins, claimed a fifth successive Liga victory. They have not conceded a league goal during that run.

• Benfica have kept six clean sheets in their last nine games in all competitions.

• The Portuguese titleholders have scored in each of their past 28 league games. The last time they failed to find the net was in a goalless draw at Sporting Clube de Portugal on 28 November 2009.

• Benfica are yet to draw this season but have lost six times in all competitions – the same number of defeats they suffered all of last term.

• Michel Bastos was replaced before half-time against Sochaux after suffering a bruised right thigh.

• Puel said Lisandro would be out for three weeks after the striker injured his calf in training on the eve of the Sochaux match.

• Miralem Pjanić was dropped to the bench on Saturday after complaining of groin pain.

• Aly Cissokho suffered a thigh injury against Arles and has been ruled out for three weeks.

• Jean Makoun returned against Arles following a thigh problem but has not played since succumbing to a similar injury in the warm-up before the PSG game.

• Jérémy Toulalan has not played since picking up a foot injury on 17 October.

• Ederson and César Delgado have been out since August with thigh injuries, though the latter is back in training.
