Fresh injury misery for Roma's Taddei

AS Roma winger Rodrigo Taddei could be sidelined for a month after suffering the recurrence of a calf injury which means he may miss the Italian side's next two Group E matches.

AS Roma will be without right winger Rodrigo Taddei for about a month after the 30-year-old succumbed to a recurring calf injury.

Taddei was forced to miss Roma's goalless draw at Parma FC on Sunday after suffering a setback during the warm-up. He had played in the previous Serie A game against Genoa CFC and the 3-1 home defeat by FC Basel 1893 in the UEFA Champions League after recovering from the same injury.

Tests on Tuesday confirmed that the former SE Palmeiras and AC Siena player had "sustained a first to second-degree strain to his right calf". He will sit out the return match against Basel in Switzerland next Wednesday and probably FC Bayern München's visit to Rome on 23 November.

Claudio Ranieri's team are level with Basel and CFR 1907 Cluj at the bottom of Group E with three points from as many games. Bayern lead the section on nine points.
