The latest episode of UEFA.com's documentary series on FC Twente focuses on the unsung heroes who work tirelessly at the UEFA Champions League debutants. As Joop Munsterman, president of the Dutch titleholders, puts it: "They are people who serve the club from their heart."
Twente picked up their first win in the competition on 2 November after two late and unanswered goals gave the Enschede side three Group A points at SV Werder Bremen. Amid the euphoria, and as Michel Preud'homme's charges now prepare for a San Siro trip on Matchday 5, we interview some of the characters behind the scenes at the FC Twente Stadion.
Kit man Jacob Malki, colourful Twente radio commentator Sander Dol and Hedy Wijma – who looks after terminally ill patients on matchdays – are three of the employees we speak to. First-teamers Theo Janssen and Wout Brama also chip in to explain the importance of such individuals, before Munsterman sums up the family spirit at Twente: "A club is a people's business. Everyone puts in his share, and your strength is determined by your weakest or smallest link. If one little element ceases, then the whole machine stops."
