Arsenal FC have agreed a deal to bring Ryo Miyaichi on board in January after the young Japanese striker impressed on trial with the UEFA Champions League contenders.
The 18-year-old represented Japan at the 2009 FIFA U-17 World Cup and will join up with the Gunners after turning out for Chukyodai Chuyko High School at the All Japan High School Soccer Tournament.
"I am delighted Ryo will be joining us in the new year," said the north London club's manager Arsène Wenger. "He trialled with us in the summer and has raw ability which has attracted many clubs around the world. I look forward to helping him fulfil his potential here at Arsenal."
Arsenal are set to face FC Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League round of 16, hosting the Spanish champions on 16 February before concluding their tie at Camp Nou on 8 March.
