• The Sevastopol win was Mircea Lucescu's side's first Ukrainian Premier League fixture since 28 November, when a 4-0 victory against FC Arsenal Kyiv sent them into the winter break 12 points clear at the top of the table.

• The Pitmen have won their last 13 competitive matches, and 28 of their 31 fixtures this term.

• Shakhtar have lost two of their last 40 games in all competitions; their last 37 league outings have brought 34 wins, two draws and one loss.

• Shakhtar have won all 15 of their home games this season, conceding three goals in the process.

• They have won 18 in a row at home in all competitions and have not lost on their own turf in 53 matches, since 22 October 2008 and a 1-0 defeat by Sporting Clube de Portugal.

• Lucescu's side have kept clean sheets in 20 of their 31 fixtures this term, including four of their last five. Only twice have they conceded more than one goal: the 5-1 defeat at Arsenal FC on 19 October and the first leg in Rome.

• Shakhtar have not conceded more than one goal at home in 35 home games, since 29 July 2009 and a 2-2 draw with Romanian side FC Timişoara in the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round.

Latest domestic information
Friday 4 March: US Lecce 1-2 AS Roma (Giacomazzi 75; Vučinić 32, Pizarro 90pen)
Doni; Cassetti (Juan 30), Mexès, Nicolás Burdisso, Riise; Pizarro, De Rossi; Taddei (Brighi 69), Perrotta, Vučinić (Menez 80); Borriello

• David Pizarro's first goal since 14 March 2010 earned Roma victory after Guillermo Giacomazzi had cancelled out Mirko Vučinić's strike against his former employers.

• It was only Roma's seventh win in 19 away games this season. They have lost eight and drawn four.

• Of the 39 Serie A goals Roma have conceded this season, 25 have come in the last half-hour.

• On 20 February, four days after the first leg against Shakhtar, Roma squandered a three-goal lead at Genoa CFC to lose 4-3. Their fourth consecutive defeat in all competitions prompted Claudio Ranieri to resign as coach.

• Vincenzo Montella was appointed as Ranieri's replacement until the end of the season and made a winning start on 23 February, Daniele De Rossi's goal (45) earning the Giallorossi a 1-0 win at Bologna FC. The game kicked off on 16 minutes, the point at which the original fixture, on 30 January, was abandoned due to heavy snow.

• Montella's home debut against Parma FC on 27 February was less productive as, having led 2-0, Amauri scored twice in the last 16 minutes to restrict Roma to a 2-2 draw. The visitors ended with ten men.

• Francesco Totti marked his 600th appearance for Roma in all competitions with his fifth penalty of the season, taking him to 252 goals for the club. He was later booked, however, and missed the Lecce game through suspension.

• Philippe Mexès scored his first league goal of the season against Genoa.

• Roma have lost eight league games this season (seven away from home), two more than in the whole of last term.

• The Giallorossi have scored in each of their last 14 away games in all competitions, since a goalless draw at Parma on 24 October.

• Roma face FC Internazionale Milano in the Coppa Italia semi-finals, with the first leg at home on 20 April before the 11 May return.

• Roma accrued two points from their opening four matches, their worst start to a Serie A campaign since 1974/75 when they recovered to finish third.

Injury news
• Cassetti was forced off with a thigh injury after half an hour on Friday.

• Adriano has not played since dislocating his shoulder against S.S. Lazio on 19 January.

• Pizarro returned to action against Bologna after a persistent knee problem that had kept him out since 28 November. He picked up another knee knock against Parma but a scan allayed fears of long-term injury.
