Chelsea

UEFA milestones
• The first leg marked Chelsea's 150th game in UEFA competition and their 50th win in the UEFA Champions League, group stage to final.

UEFA Champions League statistics
• Chelsea have had 66 shots wide; more than any other team ahead of the round of 16 first legs.

• John Obi Mikel will incur a suspension with his next booking.

Latest domestic information
• Chelsea did not play at the weekend as their ambitions of becoming the first team in 125 years to win three successive FA Cups ended with a penalty shoot-out defeat by Everton FC in a fourth round replay on 19 February.

• The last time the Blues did not have a domestic game the weekend before a UEFA Champions League fixture was in May 2008, when they lost in the final to Manchester United FC on penalties.

• Prior to the first leg at FCK, Chelsea had won one of their previous five games in all competitions; their victory in Denmark preceded league successes against Manchester United (2-1) and Blackpool FC (3-1).

• Chelsea picked up 25 points from their first ten league matches this season. It has taken 18 further matches to surpass that haul, Carlo Ancelotti's team collecting 26 points from a possible 54 in that time.

• The English champions have already lost seven league games this season; more than in any campaign since 2003/04, when they were also beaten seven times as they finished runners-up to Arsenal FC.

• Petr Čech made his 300th appearance for Chelsea at Blackpool, only the second non-British player to reach that landmark after Gianfranco Zola (312). Ashley Cole played his 200th game for the club at Bloomfield Road.

Injury news
• Alex has been out since 28 November after undergoing knee surgery.

• Yossi Benayoun is expected to be out of action until next month with a torn Achilles tendon suffered in September.
