Taye Taiwo will miss the start of AC Milan's UEFA Champions League group stage campaign with an ankle injury.
Taiwo, a summer signing from Olympique de Marseille, sustained the injury during the Rossoneri's 2-1 friendly victory against Juventus on Sunday. The Nigerian international left-back was substituted early in the second half, with subsequent scans revealing ligament damage. He will be on the sidelines for 30 days "excluding complications" according to the club.
Serie A titleholders Milan will discover their UEFA Champions League group stage opponents when the draw is made in Monaco on Thursday evening.
