Milan lose Taiwo for a month

AC Milan will be without new signing Taye Taiwo for the start of their UEFA Champions League group stage campaign after the left-back was ruled out for 30 days with an ankle injury.

Taye Taiwo will miss the start of AC Milan's UEFA Champions League group stage campaign with an ankle injury.

Taiwo, a summer signing from Olympique de Marseille, sustained the injury during the Rossoneri's 2-1 friendly victory against Juventus on Sunday. The Nigerian international left-back was substituted early in the second half, with subsequent scans revealing ligament damage. He will be on the sidelines for 30 days "excluding complications" according to the club.

Serie A titleholders Milan will discover their UEFA Champions League group stage opponents when the draw is made in Monaco on Thursday evening.
