• Substitute Lorenzo Ebecilio was sent off in added time as Frank de Boer's team stretched their unbeaten run to 11 Eredivisie matches, winning ten since a 3-2 loss at ADO Den Haag on 20 March.

• Kolbeinn Sigthórsson has scored five goals in six games for club and country; Miralem Sulejmani has four in five.

• Ajax kicked off their season with a 2-1 defeat by FC Twente in the Dutch Super Cup at the Amsterdam ArenA, with Theo Janssen conceding a first-half penalty against his former employers.

• Ajax have not kept a clean sheet in 11 matches, since a 2-0 win against FC Groningen on 10 April.

• Bafétimbi Gomis' fourth goal of the campaign in all competitions helped Lyon extend their unbeaten start to the season to seven games.

• Lyon's Ligue 1 haul of 11 points from five matches is a marked improvement on their tally of five at the same stage last term, when they were 16th.

• The Gones are yet to keep a clean sheet this season, and had to come from behind in their first five outings.

• Lyon will face rivals AS Saint-Étienne in the French League Cup round of 16 on 25 or 26 October.

Injury news
• Lisandro (sprained ankle, out since 27 August) and Cris (hamstring, 15 August) have both been ruled out until the end of October.

• Yannis Tafer will be out until November after breaking his foot at the FIFA U-20 World Cup. Clément Grenier returned from Mexico with a muscular injury but made his Lyon comeback on Saturday.

• Ederson (knee) and Yoann Gourcuff (ankle) are yet to play this season because of long-term injuries.
