• Chelsea extended their winning Premier League run to three matches. They have scored 12 goals in that time, beating Swansea City FC 4-1 and Bolton Wanderers FC 5-1.

• Frank Lampard scored a hat-trick at Bolton, his 350th league appearance for Chelsea. His goals took him on to 119 league strikes for the club, moving him fifth on Chelsea's all-time list.

• John Terry made his 350th league appearance for Chelsea against Everton.

• The Blues have kept just one clean sheet in their last 12 league games and none in the last seven; the latter run is their longest since September 2003.

• The London club will visit Everton in the League Cup fourth round on 26 October.

Injury news
• Midfielder Michael Essien could be out of action until January after suffering ligament damage to a knee during pre-season training.

• David Luiz has started both Chelsea's UEFA Champions League games to date, although his appearance at Bolton on 2 October was his first in this season's Premier League and he was rested for the Everton match.

• Daniel Sturridge suffered a knee problem against Fulham FC on 21 September but returned against Bolton, scoring twice.

International duty
• Captain Terry, Ashley Cole and substitute Lampard helped England book their place at UEFA EURO 2012 with a 2-2 draw in Montenegro on 7 October.

• Florent Malouda found the net in France's 3-0 win against Albania on 7 October and also featured in the 1-1 draw against Bosnia and Herzegovina that clinched a place in next summer's finals.

• Branislav Ivanović scored Serbia's goal in a 1-1 home draw against Italy on 7 October, although the subsequent 1-0 defeat in Slovenia ended their UEFA EURO 2012 hopes.

• Juan Mata scored past Petr Čech as Spain won 2-0 in the Czech Republic on 7 October.

• John Obi Mikel's Nigeria missed out on a place in next year's Africa Cup of Nations for the first time since 1986 as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Guinea in their final qualifier on 8 October.

• Luiz scored an own goal as Brazil claimed a 2-1 friendly victory away to Mexico on 11 October.

• Didier Drogba scored his 50th goal in 76 internationals in the Ivory Coast's 4-3 friendly win against Israel on 10 August.

• Abel Masuero made his competitive debut at centre-back as Genk suffered their third successive defeat, leaving them without a win in four games, after goalscorer Christian Benteke was sent off on 43 minutes.

• Elyaniv Barda was starting a two-match suspension following his dismissal in the 1-1 draw against Oud-Heverlee Leuven on 24 September.

• Benteke's goal was the first Genk have scored in 235 minutes – since Jelle Vossen's effort against Leuven – their worst sequence since December 2009/January 2010 when they failed to score in 242 minutes.

• Genk are on 13 points in the First League; at this stage last term they had double that and were five points clear at the summit after eight wins and two draws from their opening ten fixtures.

• Mario Been took the reins on 30 August, 12 days after Frank Vercauteren's departure for United Arab Emirates outfit Al-Jazira Club. Pierre Denier led the side in the interim.

• Genk will play K. Lierse SK in the last 16 of the Belgian Cup on 26 October.

Injury news
• Vossen twisted his ankle in the 1-0 defeat by RSC Anderlecht on 2 October but was fit to start at Lokeren.

• Pudil did not feature at Lokeren after returning from international duty with a hamstring injury.

• Nadson has not featured since suffering an ankle injury at Bayer 04 Leverkusen on matchday two.

• David Hubert (stomach, out since 28 September) and Jeroen Simaeys (broken toe, 5 October) have been sidelined.

• Torben Joneleit could be out until April after tearing cruciate ligaments in his left knee against KV Mechelen on 27 August.

International duty
• Marvin Ogunjimi scored after coming on as a substitute as Belgium beat Kazakhstan 4-1 on 7 October, but their UEFA EURO 2012 ambitions ended with a 3-1 defeat by Germany four days later.

• Pudil played as the Czech Republic (0-2 loss v Spain, 7 October, and 4-1 away win v Lithuania, 11 October) secured a place in the UEFA EURO 2012 play-offs; they will face Montenegro next month.

• Anele Ngongca featured as South Africa drew 0-0 with Sierra Leone in Nelspruit on 8 October. The hosts celebrated, thinking they had sealed a 2012 Africa Cup of Nations spot, but later learned Niger had pipped them courtesy of a superior head-to-head record.

• Ogunjimi will leave Genk to join RCD Mallorca on 7 December.
