• Panaitolikos defender André Rocha was dismissed for a foul on Djamel Abdoun inside the area that allowed Marko Pantelić to finish from the spot for the hosts and league leaders. Pantelić has now scored in 13 games since joining in summer 2010; Olympiacos have won all of them.

• Rafik Djebbour has found the net seven times in his last nine Olympiacos games in all competitions.

• Olympiacos suffered their first league defeat of the season on 27 November, losing 2-0 at Asteras Tripolis FC.

• Ernesto Valverde's side bounced back three days later with their third 6-0 win since 20 March; Pantelić, making his first club start of the season, and Kevin Mirallas each scored twice at home to Doxa Dramas FC.

• The 2-2 draw with OFI Crete FC on 29 October ended the Piraeus side's run of 17 consecutive home league wins.

Injury news
• Ariel Ibagaza, making only his second appearance since 5 November because of knee and quadriceps problems, went off before half-time against Panaitolikos with a thigh strain.

• Ljubomir Fejsa has been ruled out until late January after suffering a knee injury in training on 25 November. Jean Makoun suffered knee ligament damage six days earlier and will be out of action until the new year.

• David Fuster and Olof Mellberg missed the Doxa and Panaitolikos wins after picking up groin injuries at Asteras.

• Pablo Orbaiz (out since 19 November, groin) came on at half-time against Panaitolikos, while Tassos Papazoglou (12 November, right knee) was an unused substitute. Francisco Yeste (26 November, right calf) is still sidelined.

• German-born José Holebas made his Greece debut on 11 November, in a 1-1 friendly draw with Russia.

• Arsenal eased to victory at Wigan to end a sequence of two games without a win in all competitions and stretch their unbeaten Premier League run to seven matches.

• Robin van Persie has plundered 32 league goals in 31 appearances in 2011 and is only the fifth player in Premier League history to score 30 or more in a calendar year after Alan Shearer (twice), Thierry Henry, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Les Ferdinand. Only Alan Shearer (36 in 1995) and Thierry Henry (34 in 2004) have registered more.

Injury news
• Jack Wilshere has not played since 4 June due to a stress fracture in his right ankle. Bacary Sagna will be out until 2012 after fracturing his right fibula on 2 October.

• Abou Diaby made his first appearance this season on matchday five after an ankle injury but has not played since 26 November due to a hamstring problem.

• Kieran Gibbs has not played since straining a stomach muscle against Sunderland AFC on 16 October, while a back problem has kept Carl Jenkinson out since 5 November.

• Rosický has not been involved since 15 November, having picked up a thigh strain in training.

• Due to a sprained left ankle, Ryo Myaichi has not played since featuring for the reserves on 7 November.

• Van Persie has been nominated for the FIFA FIFPro World XI, which will be announced in Zurich on 9 January.

• Van Persie scored four times in the Netherlands' 11-0 home win against San Marino in UEFA EURO 2012 qualifying on 2 September, the first Dutchman to do so since Marco van Basten's five-goal haul against Malta in 1990.

• Gervinho has been nominated for the CAF African Footballer of the Year award, which will be announced in Accra, Ghana on 22 December.
