• Bayern stretched their unbeaten run to seven games, winning six, thanks to Arjen Robben's ninth goal during that sequence. Gomez, not on target on Saturday, has contributed ten goals in FCB's last seven outings.

• Jupp Heynckes's side have won just seven of their last 18 away games in all competitions in regulation time.

• Gomez has scored 38 goals in his last 41 games for club and country, and last month registered his 11th hat-trick in the Bundesliga – only Klaus Fischer (12) and Gerd Müller (32) have managed more.

• Ribéry has scored 11 goals in the Bundesliga this term, equalling his previous best set in 2007/08.

• Bayern have won their last nine home games in all competitions, scoring 32 goals in the process, conceding four.

Injury news
• On Saturday Diego Contento made his first appearance since breaking his toe on 13 January, having been an unused substitute for Bayern's previous seven games.

• Daniel Van Buyten has been sidelined with a broken metatarsal since 20 January.

• Breno, out since having a knee operation on 11 May, is yet to play this season. He was an unused substitute against Wolfsburg on 28 January but has since undergone further knee surgery.

• Schweinsteiger's elder brother Tobias, 30, will join Bayern's reserve team this summer from third division side SSV Jahn 2000 Regensburg.

• On 29 February, Ribéry helped France to a 2-1 victory against a Germany side featuring club-mates Holger Badstuber, Boateng, Toni Kroos, Thomas Müller and Gomez.

• In February it was announced that Xherdan Shaqiri will join from FC Basel 1893 in the summer on a four-year deal.

• Matchday six marked Didier Deschamps' 24th UEFA competition game at the OM helm, surpassing Erik Gerets' club record.

• Marseille have scored 146 goals in the European Cup.

• Alou Diarra is banned while André Ayew, Morgan Amalfitano, Stéphane Mbia and Jérémy Morel will incur a suspension with their next bookings. Souleymane Diawara and Steve Mandanda served bans in the first leg.

Latest domestic information
• Marseille were not in action at the weekend after their home meeting with Ligue 1 leaders Montpellier Hérault SC, scheduled for Saturday, was postponed until 11 April.

• OM have lost eight of their last nine games in all competitions, extra time included. They drew the other match during that run, and have not won since the last-16 first leg against FC Internazionale Milano on 22 February.

• Deschamps' side have lost five of their last six away games, drawing the most recent at OGC Nice on 24 March. Before that winless run started, they had recorded six successive away victories.

• OM exited the Coupe de France quarter-finals on 20 March, suffering a 3-2 extra-time loss at third-tier US Quevilly. Marseille have been knocked out of the tournament by lower-league sides in three of the last five seasons.

• Marseille could become the first side to win the French League Cup three years running when they face Olympique Lyonnais in the final in Paris on 14 April.

• OM went bottom of Ligue 1 for the first time in six years after their 2-0 loss at Lyon on 18 September.

Injury news
• Diawara has been ruled out of the second leg after rupturing a cruciate knee ligament in the 1-1 draw with Nice on 24 March.

• André Ayew has been playing despite ongoing shoulder problems, explaining: "I need surgery but if I do it now, my season will be over. I will carry on like this for the time being."

Miscellaneous
• Amalfitano made his international debut on 29 February as a France side also including Mathieu Valbuena and Diarra claimed a 2-1 friendly win against Germany in Bremen.

• In January, Valbuena published his autobiography, Mon parcours du combattant (My Obstacle Course).
