• Jérôme Boateng is the only Bayern player to have appeared in all 1,110 minutes in the competition this season.

• Bayern have committed 195 fouls and collected 28 bookings, both more than any other side in the competition.

• Mario Gomez is this season's second highest scorer with 12 goals, two fewer than Lionel Messi. Only one other player – AC Milan's José Altafini got 14 in 1962/63 – has scored more than 12 in a European Cup campaign.

• Franck Ribéry has five assists, the joint highest total along with Messi, Kaká, Karim Benzema and Nicolás Gaitán.

• Ribéry has been fouled 42 times; more than any other player.

• Holger Badstuber, David Alaba and Luiz Gustavo are suspended after yellow cards in the semi-final second leg.

• Bayern's aspirations of claiming their 16th German Cup (no other side have won more than six) were ended by their heaviest domestic cup defeat in 40 years in the final in Berlin; it was also their fifth successive loss to Dortmund.

• It was their heaviest defeat in three years, since losing 4-0 at FC Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals on 8 April 2009.

• Bayern finished runners-up in the Bundesliga and have now gone two seasons without winning the title, their longest drought since Dortmund's last back-to-back championships in 1994/95 and 1995/96; back then, FCB gained consolation with the 1996 UEFA Cup.

• Jupp Heynckes's side have won 13 of their last 14 matches at the Fußball Arena München, drawing the other.

• The Bavarian outfit have won 22 of their 25 home games in all competitions this season, drawing once and losing twice, 1-0 to both Dortmund (19 November) and VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach (7 August).

• Ribéry scored 12 Bundesliga goals this term, passing his previous best of 11 set in 2007/08.

• Gomez has struck 42 goals in his last 51 appearances for club and country.

• Bayern's 2-0 win against VfL Wolfsburg on 28 January was Heynckes's 456th Bundesliga victory as coach and player, surpassing Otto Rehhagel's German top-flight record.

• Between 7 August and 18 October, Manuel Neuer and Bayern went a club record 1,147 minutes without conceding.

Injury news
• Daniel Van Buyten, who signed a new one-year deal at the end of April, has not played since breaking a metatarsal on 20 January but did feature for the reserves last Friday.

• Breno has not played this season because of a knee injury.

• Neuer, Badstuber, Boateng, Philipp Lahm, Toni Kroos, Thomas Müller, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Gomez (all Germany), Anatoliy Tymoshchuk (Ukraine), Ribéry (France), Robben (Netherlands) and Danijel Pranjić and Ivica Olić (Croatia) have all been included in provisional UEFA EURO 2012 squads.

• FC Basel 1893's Xherdan Shaqiri and Mönchengladbach defender Dante will join on four-year deals this summer, when Schweinsteiger's brother Tobias, 30, links up with Bayern's reserves from third tier SSV Jahn 2000 Regensburg.

• On Wednesday Bayern confirmed TSG 1899 Hoffenheim goalkeeper Tom Starke will join on a three-year contract. 

• On 3 May, Arjen Robben signed a new two-year deal tying him to the club until summer 2015.

• In November, Neuer won €500,000 for charity in the German version of television show Who Wants to be a Millionaire?

• John Terry is suspended after his red card in the semi-final second leg while Branislav Ivanović, Ramires and Raul Meireles are also banned.

• A weakened Chelsea side, with Sam Hutchinson and Romelu Lukaku making first Premier League starts, beat already-relegated Blackburn as they ended sixth in the English top flight – their worst finish in ten years.

• Twenty of the 46 league goals Chelsea conceded this season came in the final 15 minutes.

• The Blues have failed to convert five of their ten spot kicks this term.

• Chelsea's 11-match unbeaten run in all competitions was ended by a 2-0 home reverse against Newcastle United FC on 2 May; they then lost their next league game 4-1 against Liverpool FC six days later. That took them to ten league defeats this season, more losses than in any other campaign since 2000/01.

• In between Chelsea lifted the FA Cup for the fourth time in six seasons with a 2-1 win against Liverpool at Wembley on 5 May thanks to a goal in each half from Ramires and Didier Drogba.

• Drogba's goal made him the first player to score in four FA Cup finals; the Ivorian has found the net in all seven of his domestic cup final appearances for Chelsea.

• The Blues dismissed manager André Villas-Boas on 4 March. His assistant Roberto Di Matteo was placed in charge until the end of the season and has overseen 13 victories, four draws and three defeats.

• Frank Lampard this season became the first player to score ten or more in nine successive Premier League campaigns with his goal against Bolton Wanderers FC on 25 February.

• Fernando Torres scored twice in a 5-2 home win against Leicester City FC in the FA Cup quarter-finals on 18 March, ending a run of 24 club matches without a goal.

Injury news
• Florent Malouda was taken off with a hamstring problem on Sunday.

• David Luiz (out since 15 April) and Gary Cahill (24 April) have been sidelined with hamstring injuries.

• John Obi Mikel has not featured since picking up a knee knock against Liverpool on 5 May.

Miscellaneous
• Should Chelsea win in Munich, they would hold a parade in the Fulham area of west London on Sunday.

• Terry, Cahill, Ashley Cole, Lampard (all England), Malouda (France), Meireles (Portugal) and Čech (Czech Republic) have all been included in provisional UEFA EURO 2012 squads.

• On 14 May Čech was awarded the Golden Ball as the Czech Republic's player of the season for a record seventh time after topping a poll of journalists.

• Chelsea signed Kevin De Bruyne from KRC Genk in January. Although the winger has spent the rest of the season back on loan at the Belgian club, he will move to London in the summer.

• On 28 April, Chelsea confirmed SV Werder Bremen midfielder Marko Marin will move to Stamford Bridge this summer.

• On 9 May, Chelsea lifted the FA Youth Cup for the fourth time with a 4-1 aggregate victory against Blackburn.
