Juve move in for Zebina

Juventus FC have signed French central defender Jonathan Zebina on a free transfer from AS Roma.

Juventus FC have signed defender Jonathan Zebina on a free transfer from AS Roma. The 25-year-old French centre-half signed a five-year contract with the Turin club immediately after his previous agreement with the Giallorossi expired.

Scudetto winner
Zebina joined Roma from Cagliari Calcio in 2000, winning the scudetto in his first season with the capital club. In six seasons in Serie A the Frenchman has played 135 games, scoring one goal.

New-look defence
The signing is a step towards the Turin club rebuilding a defence which conceded 42 goals in the last campaign as Juve finished third. The club have not yet revealed the identity of the coach who will replace Marcello Lippi next season.
