Barcelona hit by Sergi injury

FC Barcelona captain Sergi Barjuán has torn ligaments will be out for at least three weeks.

FC Barcelona captain Sergi Barjuán has been ruled out for three weeks after picking up an injury during his side's UEFA Champions League match with AS Roma.

Torn ligaments
The Spanish international defender has torn ligaments in his left knee and may also have damaged ligaments in his left ankle following a tackle from Italian striker Vincenzo Montella during the game that Roma won 3-0.

Doctor confirms injury
Club doctor Ricard Pruna said: "The injury is worse than it initially seemed." Sergi will now miss Barcelona's next Champions League match against Liverpool FC, along with their next three Spanish league matches. Francesco Coco is expected to take his place in defence.
