Real Madrid CF have rewarded Ángel Dí María with a two-year contract extension that ties the winger to the Liga club until June 2018.

The Argentinian international became José Mourinho's first signing at the Santiago Bernabéu when he arrived from SL Benfica in summer 2010. The 24-year-old has gone on to impress for the nine-time European champions, scoring 11 times in 58 league appearances over the last two seasons.

"I am very happy here and this contract extension means I can continue to grow at the club for many more years," said the former CA Rosario Central player. "I am living a dream I have had since I was a child and, what's more, I feel the full support of Real Madrid and the fans."

Last term Di María played an important part in the Merengues winning their first Liga title in four years. He will next be looking to help his side challenge for the 2012/13 UEFA Champions League when Madrid open their campaign in the group stage.
