AC Milan have increased their attacking options by recruiting Bojan Krkić on loan from AS Roma for the remainder of the campaign.
The forward, who turned 22 yesterday, scored seven goals in 33 Serie A games during his first term with Roma after arriving from FC Barcelona for an initial €12m. The loan to Milan adds to an already complicated arrangement whereby the player will return to Barcelona at the end of this season, for a €13m fee, unless Roma pay €40m to retain him.
Bojan registered 26 goals in 104 Liga matches with Barça, winning three Spanish championships and two UEFA Champions League titles. He will join fellow newcomers Mbaye Niang and Giampaolo Pazzini in a revamped attack at San Siro following the departures of Zlatan Ibrahimović and Antonio Cassano.
"Milan are a club with great history," said the one-cap Spanish international. "The coach [Massimiliano Allegri] really wanted me and now I want to repay him by playing my football. I also thank Roma as I'm here because they gave me a chance in Italian football last season."
The Rossoneri kicked off their Serie A campaign with a 1-0 home defeat by promoted UC Sampdoria last weekend. They will learn their UEFA Champions League group stage opponents in tomorrow's draw.
