• Hulk registered his first goal for Zenit as the Premier-Liga champions recovered from two down to draw 2-2 with PFC Krylya Sovetov Samara on 22 September.

• Three days later strikes from Hulk and Bruno Alves helped Luciano Spalletti's side to a 2-1 victory at FC Baltika Kaliningrad in the Russian Cup round of 32. Alves' goal was his first at club level since scoring in a 4-2 UEFA Europa League victory against AEK Athens FC on 30 September 2010.

• Aleksei Evseev, 18, made his first start for Zenit in Kaliningrad.

• Stephan El Shaarawy has scored four goals in Milan's last three games – no other player has registered for the Rossoneri in their past five matches.

• Zapata and Kevin-Prince Boateng were sent off as the Rossoneri suffered their third defeat of the campaign on 23 September, 2-1 at Udinese Calcio. Milan had not lost three of their first four top-flight games since 1940/41.

• Montolivo (out since 1 September) and Robinho (26 August) respectively returned from thigh injuries against Udinese and, on 26 September, the 2-0 win against Cagliari Calcio.

• Pato is yet to play this season for Milan because of a thigh injury sustained on 22 August.

• Inzaghi retired in the summer and took over the Allievi Nazionali youth side, who play in the Italian Under-16 league. His coaching debut ended with a 5-1 victory over Bologna FC on 9 September.
