• This is Valencia's 100th European Cup game. Nelson Valdez's goal on matchday one was their 150th in the competition.

• Valencia managed just 26% of possession against FC Bayern München on matchday one, the lowest of any team in the competition.

• The Spanish side had two shots on target in the first match, the joint lowest total in the group stage along with FC Dynamo Kyiv, GNK Dinamo Zagreb and Juventus.

• Adil Rami serves a one-game ban following his red card on matchday one.

• Sofiane Feghouli scored and was sent off as Valencia beat Real Zaragoza 2-0 on Saturday.

• Ricardo Costa has been ruled out of the LOSC game after tearing his calf in training on Thursday.

• Valencia picked up five points from their opening five Liga games, their worst start to a campaign since mustering one in 1999/2000 – when they reached the UEFA Champions League final before losing to Real Madrid CF.

• David Albelda was ruled out for around four weeks after suffering a tear to his right hamstring during training on 11 September.

• Éver Banega has not played since breaking his leg after leaving his handbrake off his car at a petrol station on 19 February, but has returned to training.

• Pablo Piatti is set to be out for much of the group stage after fracturing his right arm in training on 7 September.

• Canales has not been included in Valencia's UEFA Champions League squad as he recovers from an anterior cruciate ligament problem sustained last season.
