Match facts: Manchester City v Ajax

Manchester City

UEFA Champions League statistics
• City are 18 games unbeaten at home in UEFA competition, qualifying included, winning 14 and drawing four since a 1-0 UEFA Cup loss to FC Midtjylland in August 2008.

• City failed to reach the knockout stages last season despite collecting ten points in the group stage, matching the record for the highest points haul without advancing. SV Werder Bremen (2006/07), Olympiacos FC, FC Dynamo Kyiv (2004/05) and PSV Eindhoven (2003/04) all suffered an identical fate.

• City have conceded seven goals, the joint highest total in the group stage along with Dynamo Kyiv, FC Nordsjælland and FC Spartak Moskva.

• The English champions have been caught offside 14 times, more than any other club. Edin Džeko has attracted the raised flag on eight occasions, the most in the group stage.

• Vincent Kompany and Yaya Touré's next yellow cards will incur bans.

• City failed to score for the first time in 15 games this season on Saturday as they drew 0-0 at West Ham United FC. James Milner pulled up with a hamstring problem in the pre-match warm-up.

• Micah Richards was ruled out for up to four months with a knee injury sustained in the 1-0 win against Swansea City AFC on 27 October. The England defender only made his first appearance of the season on 6 October because of an ankle problem.

• Sergio Agüero and Mario Balotelli are in the running for the FIFA Ballon d'Or award, the winner of which will be announced on 7 January in Zurich. Roberto Mancini is nominated for the coaching prize.

• David Silva has not featured since suffering a hamstring injury in Spain's 1-1 draw with France on 16 October.

• Sweden Under-21 striker John Guidetti signed a new three-year contract on 18 October.

UEFA Champions League statistics
• Ajax's win against Manchester City on matchday three was their first in five group stage games.

• Christian Eriksen has run 39,138m; more than any other player in the group stage.

• Niklas Moisander has completed 202 of his 231 attempted passes; only Marco Verratti (205/250) and Xavi Hernández (405/447) have managed more.

• Ajax's ten-match unbeaten start to the Eredivisie season ended on Saturday with a 2-0 home defeat by Vitesse.

• Ajax beat amateur side ONS Sneek 2-0 in the Dutch Cup third round on 31 October thanks to late goals from Viktor Fischer and Stefano Denswil. They will travel to FC Groningen for the last 16 on 19 December.

• Eyong Enoh came on as a substitute on matchday three, his first appearance in five months, and played 90 minutes at Sneek.

• Ajax are five matches unbeaten away from home in all competitions.

• Tobias Sana came on to make his Sweden debut as Erik Hamrén's side recovered from four down to draw 4-4 with Germany in a FIFA World Cup qualifier on 16 October.

• Kenneth Vermeer received his first call-up to the senior Netherlands squad last month, but was not involved in the qualifiers against Andorra and Romania.

• Thulani Serero (torn groin muscle, 23 September) and Kolbeinn Sigthórsson (shoulder, August) are expected to miss the group stage.
