By claiming a point at home to Juventus on matchday three, competition debutants FC Nordsjælland firmly announced their arrival on the UEFA Champions League stage as they prepare to visit Turin on Wednesday.

It is a platform which would have been unimaginable when the Danish club first came into being 21 years ago, let alone in 2010, the year in which they won their first piece of silverware, the Danish Cup.

Though Kasper Hjulmand's side are up against it in Group E following two defeats in three matches, the experience of playing against Europe's elite is one which will serve the Danish Super League team well as they seek to make a name for themselves on the continent.

"This is the biggest stage you can play on, and performing against the best players can only improve us, which it is already doing," midfielder Nicolai Stokholm told UEFA.com. "I'm sure we'll keep improving and keep learning how to play our games."

However Nordsjælland's campaign ultimately pans out, their appearance in the group stage has done wonders for the club's international reputation. "Our image has developed from being a little local team who were fighting to survive in the Superliga to a team on a regional and national level who are playing in Europe," said coach Hjulmand.
