Ins and outs at FCK

FC København have lost midfield player Morten Bisgaard but signed defender Dan Thomassen from Padova Calcio.

Danish Superliga champions and cup winners FC København have lost another player to England, with 29-year-old midfield player Morten Bisgaard signing a three-year deal with first division Derby County FC.

Second departure
Bisgaard's move follows the transfer last week of defender Martin Albrechtsen to newly promoted Premiership side West Bromwich Albion FC. "I have always dreamed of playing in England and I chose Derby because the club were very interested in me.

Replacement found
"It was important for me that it was not a deal arranged through some agent, but that it was a club who wanted me in particular," Bisgaard said. FCK have signed a replacement for Albrechtsen in former Danish Under-21 international Dan Thomassen, who joins on a free transfer from Italian Serie C side, having agreed a three-year deal.

New challenge
"I needed a new challenge in my career, and FCK seemed like the right choice. I am really looking forward to helping the team qualify for the UEFA Champions League and defend the Danish championship," said the 23-year-old Thomassen, who made 29 appearances for Denmark's U21 team.

'Simply perfect'
"Dan Thomassen is simply the perfect replacement for Martin Albrechtsen," said FCK's sports director, Niels Christian Holmstroem. FCK will begin their Champions League campaign in the second qualifying round.
