Australia midfielder Tomas Rogic has completed his move to Scottish champions Celtic FC after being granted a work permit.

The 20-year-old joined the Parkhead club from Central Coast Mariners FC last week for a fee believed to be in the region of €475,000 after attending Celtic's winter training camp in Marbella. At the time manager Neil Lennon said: "I'm very pleased to have acquired Tom Rogic for the club. He's a very talented young player."

A work permit was required before Rogic could finalise a four-and-a-half-year deal with the Scottish Premier League leaders, and on Monday assistant manager Johan Mjällby confirmed his application had been approved by the Scottish Football Association (SFA).

It caps a remarkable rise to prominence for the former futsal player, who scored five goals in 29 appearances for Australian A-League side Central Coast before his move to Celtic. He made his international debut last November against South Korea and added three further caps in the East Asian Cup last month, playing against Hong Kong, North Korea and Guam.

Celtic host Juventus in their UEFA Champions League round of 16 first leg on 12 February, with the return fixture scheduled for 6 March.
